Dimensions sheets are easy to create within digital platforms. Simply create a title for your sheet, before selecting the mode of measurement you are storing (area, count, length etc.). Users can select which folder they would like to store sheets in, making it easy to track progress. Some software platforms even allow users to set colours within a dimension sheet based on positive or negative dimensions.
Digital Take-off software is all about reducing double-handling and avoidable errors, and dimensions sheets are certainly helpful in this regard
Live-linking between Take-off software and spreadsheets eliminates the need for bulk manual data entry. Software users can simply ‘drag and drop’ measured dimensions into a spreadsheet, with several pieces of information able to be stored within a single spreadsheet cell. The beauty of live-linking is that any subsequent changes that are made to the dimensions using your software are automatically updated on the linked spreadsheet. This saves you the effort of going backwards and forwards between your takeoff and spreadsheet ensuring everything is up-to-date.
